Assessment: A speech-language assessment analyzes an individual's communication skills. Assessment visits vary from one to three hours, depending upon the referral concern. A comprehensive, diagnostic battery is obtained. Previous test results from other professional sources are also taken into account. A written report is provided detailing the results of the evaluation, the diagnosis and the treatment plan.

Intervention: All treatment sessions are individually based and tailored to the specific needs of each child. Sessions typically run for one hour in length although 30 and 45 minute sessions are available. The number of sessions and the length of treatment time varies with each client. At the end of each treatment session, the parents are provided with a daily progress note which outlines the therapy activities that occurred, the child's progress and carryover activities for home.

Referrals: Parents can refer their child to the office by calling for an appointment or filling out an appointment/referral request form on our website. The speech-pathologist will then call the family to gather important information about the child's speech-language abilities. A consultation appointment at the office will then be arranged. Professionals may also refer by phone on behalf of their patient.

Fees: Speech Connections, Bedford is a speech therapy private practice. Payment is by cash or check following each session. An official receipt will be issued after payment. This can be submitted privately for reimbursement by your insurance company. The amount of coverage is dependent upon the individual's plan. Speech Connections, Bedford does not accept payment from insurance plans at this time.
