StaffHeather A. Adams, M.A., CCC-SLP Heather A. Adams is the owner of Speech Connections, Bedford. She is an energetic and experienced speech-language pathologist with over 15 years of experience in the field. Heather earned her Master's degree from San Jose State University, California and her Bachelor's degree from the University of New Hampshire. She maintains her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed through the state of New Hampshire. She has worked in a variety of school settings throughout her career and has provided services to children with a wide range of speech, language and communication difficulties. Heather has a strong awareness of children's sensory integration needs and plans her therapy accordingly to enhance speech-language success. Heather is trained in the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and the Rosenfeld-Johnson Talk Tools Assessment and Intervention Program. She has attended a significant number of workshops on the pragmatic deficits associated with autism spectrum disorders and runs weekly social skills groups for students with Asperger's Syndrome, high-functioning autism and pragmatic language impairment. Heather has a special interest in augmentative and alternative communication and has been fully trained in the Dynavox and Vantage lines of communication devices. | |||||||||
